Quiero contarte un poco cómo comencé a figurarme la idea de estudiar desarrollo web.

Pasé los últimos años trabajando en un rol que si bien me ha gustado, ya el último año sentía que había caducado para mí, todo se estaba estirando como un chicle sin gusto. Claro que con una pandemia y restricciones de salida, todo se reconfigura y lo que ya no gusta tanto, termina por pudrirse.

Ese trabajo estaba bien pago y tenía muchos beneficios pero ya no me sentía con ganas de continuar por varias razones que en este post no sumarían, quizás quede para otro.

YA sabía que era mi último año en Buenos Aires. Sí, previo a la pandemia tenía fecha puesta en diciembre 2020 para culminar con 16 años en la urbe.

El 30/12 me mudé a un pueblito en Córdoba, entre dos cordones montañosos y con su río, de lo más pintoresco. No quería pasar el primer día del 2021 en Capital Federal, imposible. Ya era momento de encarar una nueva vida.

Después de tanto laburo online, pasaron algunos meses hasta volver a amigarme con la idea de volver a compartir mi trabajo por ese medio. Creo que necesité descomprimir tanta pantalla hasta volver a enamorarme de la tecnología otra vez.

Empezamos (con mi pareja) a emprender otros proyectos con eje en poner las manos y el cuerpo en acción. Intentamos abrir un comercio sin tacc y también un anexo de talleres culturales pero bastaron un par de meses para darnos cuenta que no era realmente lo que queríamos y ahí... sí, entendí que lo que me había hartado no era la compu sino el confinamiento y lo que ello hizo con todes nosotres.

Volví a repartir las cartas... gracias a mover las redes de los proyectos que habíamos emprendido, me topé con una publicidad de un bootcamp para estudiar front-end, ese fue el primer contacto con la posibilidad de meterme allí.

En medio de no tener dinero, de querer resolver mi futuro laboral, de no saber qué iba a hacer con mi vida, de encontrarme lejos de todo el mundo, en un paraíso pero sin familia cerca y habiendo apostado por una nueva vida entendí que era una gran oportunidad y que no había margen, si decidía emprender este camino, había que ponerle todo.

Para el ingreso a este bootcamp te solicitaban hacer una primera base en "The Odin project" (ya le daré más tela a ello), esa fue mi gran puerta de entrada a este mundo y una vez allí, salí de paseo y no volví.

Y sí, parece la historia sin fin porque una de las cosas que me había propuesto era no volver a estudiar de forma académica (pero no dejar de aprender nunca, de otras formas), no quería verme en una cursada con exámenes etc... es que bueno, después de tantos años en carreras y cursos más trabajo, estaba con un cansancio y stress bastante álgido.

Pero adivina qué?!!!, sigo estudiando y seguiré siempre :D!

Somos una generación que parece que no tiene más opción que seguir estudiando toda su vida, parece que hay que hacer posgrados, doctorados, maestrias, cursos y la lista sigue. Antes no era así, tenías tu título y con ello venía asegurado un puesto laboral, con un buen sueldo que te permitía tener tu casa, tu auto y si eso no era lo que querías, tu dinero para usarlo como quisieras.

Sí, somos una generación con muchos títulos y horas puestas en el estudio pero parece que tenemos que reinventarnos todo el tiempo. La buena noticia es que con todo ese conocimiento también nos expandimos no sólo como profesionales, sino como personas.

Soy profe de artes visuales con estudios en maestría en artes electrónicas y estudiando desarrollo web.

Que si hice otras carreras y cursos?, pues claro!!, seguramente como vos.

Hoy por hoy no queda otra que seguir en este tren del aprendizaje continuo, llegó para quedarse.

Pronto haré más posts específicos de mi paso por diferentes plataformas para aprender y contarte qué es lo que me ayudó y con qué me quedé.

Por cada línea que escribí tengo muucho que contar pero quiero hacer esto sintético e ir compartiéndote de a poco y sólo lo que sienta que puede ayudarte en algo.

Of course, with a pandemic and exit restrictions, everything is reconfigured and what is no longer liked so much, ends up rotting.

That job was well paid and had many benefits but I no longer felt like continuing for various reasons that would not be added in this post, perhaps it will be left for latter.

I ALREADY knew it was my last year in Buenos Aires. Yes, prior to the pandemic, it had a date set in December 2020 to culminate with 16 years in the city.

On 12/30 I moved to a small town in Córdoba, between two mountain ranges and with its most picturesque river. I did not want to spend the first day of 2021 in the Federal Capital, impossible. It was time to face a new life.

After so much work online, it took a few months before I became friends again with the idea of ​​sharing my work through that medium again. I think I needed to power off screens until I fell in love with technology again.

We started (with my partner) to undertake other projects focused on putting the hands on and body in action. We tried to open a shop without tacc and also an annex of cultural workshops but it took a couple of months to realize that it was not really what we wanted and there ... yes, I understood that what had fed me was not the computer but the confinement and what it did to all of us.

I returned to deal the cards again ... as a result of doing the social network for the projects that we had undertaken, I came across an advertisement for a bootcamp to study front-end, that was the first contact with the possibility of getting there.

In the midst of not having money, wanting to solve my future work, not knowing what I was going to do with my life, finding myself far from everyone, in a paradise but with no family nearby and having bet on a new life, I understood that it was a great opportunity and that there was no margin, if I decided to undertake this path, I had to put everything into it. To enter this bootcamp they asked you to make the first steps in "The Odin project" (I will talk more about it), that was my great gateway to this world and once there, I went out for a walk and did not return.

And yes it seems, the neverending story because one of the things that I had proposed was not to study academically again (but never stop learning, in other ways), I did not want to see myself in a course with exams, etc. Well, after so many years in careers and courses plus work, I was with quite severe fatigue and stress. But guess that? !!!, I keep studying and I will always continue: D!

We are a generation that seems to have no choice but to continue studying all their lives, it seems that you have to do postgraduate degrees, doctorates, masters, courses and the list goes on.

In the past it was not like that, you had your degree and with it a job position was assured, with a good salary that allowed you to have your house, your car and if that was not what you wanted, your money to use it as you wanted.

Yes, we are a generation with many titles and hours put into learning but it seems that we have to reinvent ourselves all the time. The good news is that with all that knowledge we also expand not only as professionals, but as a better selfs.

I am a visual art teacher with studies in a master's degree in electronic arts and studying web development.

Today there is no other choice but to keep on this train of continuous learning, this is here to stay.
